Psychosocial risk maturity, capability, gaps & barriers

Your responses to the questions below will directly support the development of the upcoming “Safety Sphere” National Psychosocial Risk, Maturity and Risk Management Report." These questions have been carefully designed to capture genuine, evidence based insights from WHS leaders across Australia, free from external influence, assumptions, or third party agendas.

Your responses will form the foundation of an industry first dataset that reflects the actual challenges, impacts, and realities experienced by WHS professionals around Psychosocial Risk. All information provided will remain 100% confidential, used solely for the development of this report, which will be released and presented exclusively to all attendees at the 2026 summit.

Systems & Cross Functional Maturity
How would you rate the current maturity of your organisation’s systems and functions (including HR, HSE, and IT) in effectively integrating and supporting psychosocial risk management?
Barriers to Integration
What are the key barriers preventing effective integration between HR, HSE, and IT systems and teams in managing psychosocial risks? (select all that apply)
Psychosocial Risk Identification
Which psychosocial risks are most relevant to your organisation, and how clearly are these risks currently defined, assessed, and documented (e.g., in risk registers)?
Current Management & Systems Effectiveness
How are psychosocial risks currently managed across your organisation, and how effectively do existing systems, processes, and reporting structures support this?
Is psychosocial risk just one big disruptor, or has it created safer, stronger and less risky workplaces?
To what extent has the current psychosocial regulatory environment increased operational burden and complexity for your organisation, compared to improving workplace safety outcomes?
How have psychosocial requirements influenced workers’ compensation trends in your organisation (e.g., claim volume, claim duration, costs, and perceived misuse of the system)
To what extent have psychosocial compliance obligations impacted your ability as a Safety leader (or your safety team) to remain connected and present in the field with workers?
Do you believe current psychosocial regulations and guidelines provide businesses with clear, practical direction or have they created confusion, increased cost, and limited measurable benefits?
Has the introduction of psychosocial risk requirements helped your organisation, or has it primarily added complexity without demonstrable improvements
